Premium Long Pepper from Sulawesi Island

Hand-picked and sun-dried Long Pepper from Sulawesi island. With a milder spiciness than black pepper, it boasts a unique sweet and sour note.

Long pepper, also known as Piper longum, is a flowering vine cultivated for its fruit, which is used as a spice. The fruits of the Indonesian long pepper are often confused with chili peppers but are sweeter and less pungent than its close relative, Piper nigrum, which is the source of black, green, and white pepper. The fruits of the long pepper plant are long and conical, with a flavor similar to black pepper but more complex, sweeter, and with a citrusy bite similar to Szechuan peppercorns.

How to use

Long Pepper from Sulawesi goes well with raw fish, chocolate, fruit salads and to flavour creams

Best used by crushing in a mortar, breaking up by hand, or ground.
